Video call from Mount Everest

Climber from the UK Daniel Hughes was the first to make a video call from the summit of Mount Everest. Video sharing using a smartphone lasted just under three minutes.

In the absence of 3G or LTE-network on top of the mountain Hughes resorted to satellite Internet by connecting to it via a dedicated terminal. The aim of climbing Hughes was to draw attention to the work of the charity Comic Relief. To date, Hughes managed to collect about 40,000 pounds, but to dwell on this, he is not going to want to collect not less than one million.
